WONDERFUL TURKEY

November 1 - 11, 2001

DAY 01 : Thursday - Country of origin / Istanbul

Departure from your country of origin for overnight flight to Istanbul.

DAY 02 :Friday - Istanbul / Bosphorus ( 63 Miles )

We arrive at Istanbul airport. Upon arrival you will be met, greeted and transferred to the hotel by our " INTEROMEGA " staff. Time to rest and relax. Afternoon drive through the villages along the Bosphorus to Tarabya Bay to be transferred to the boat for a fantastic cruise through the incomparable Bosphorus admiring palaces, old wooden villas and mosques decorating the skyline of the old capital of Byzantium. Dinner and overnight in our hotel.

DAY 03 : Saturday - Istanbul ( 32 Miles )

Whole day visit of Istanbul s most important monuments including the Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, St. Sophia, Topkapi Palace with its priceless collections of jewelry and China ware. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 04 : Sunday - Istanbul / Canakkale ( 282 Miles )

Before departure for Canakkale visit of the Grand Covered Bazaar. Then proceed to Canakkale, driving along the Sea of Marmara and crossing the Dardanelles by ferry. Afternoon a comprehensive visit of Troy, Homer's dream, seeing 9 different settlements, all at one particular hill of Hisarlik. Dinner and overnight at your Hotel in Canakkale.

DAY 05 : Monday - Canakkale / Izmir ( 250 Miles )

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Izmir via Pergamum where we visit its Acropolis and Asclepieon. Continue to Izmir for dinner and overnight.

DAY 06 : Tuesday - Izmir / Kusadasi ( 75 Miles )

After breakfast drive to Selcuk for a visit to magnificent Ephesus, for its extensive excavations, St. John's Basilica, The House of Holy Virgin and Archeological Museum of Ephesus. Then proceed to Kusadası for dinner and overnight.

DAY 07: Wednesday - Kusadasi / Pamukkale ( 120 Miles )

In the morning drive to Aphrodisias for a detailed visit to this newly excavated Roman city including its unique ancient stadium, theater, temple of Aphrodite and the sculpture museum. Then we proceed to Pamukkale, ancient Hierapolis, visiting glittering cascades of snow-white travertines and its curing spa. Dinner and overnight at our hotel in Pamukkale.

DAY 08 : Thursday - Pamukkale / Konya / Capaddocia ( 404 Miles )

After early breakfast at your hotel drive to Konya. Upon arrival visit of the Mevlana Mausoleum, convent of Whirling Dervishes and Aladdin Mosque. Then continue to Nevsehir for dinner and overnight at our hotel.

DAY 09 : Friday - Cappadocia ( 63 Miles )

Full day visit of the magnificent Goreme Valley with its rock-churches, the most peculiar landscape, fairy chimneys, its villages of Zelve, Avcilar, Avanos, Urgup and underground city of Kaymaklı. There is still time to experience weaving of the famous handmade carpets and kilims. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.

DAY 10 : Saturday - Cappadocia / Ankara ( 188 Miles )

Today' s drive brings us to Ankara, the capital of Modern Turkey. Upon arrival visit of the Mausoleum of Kemal Atatürk, the Museum of Anatolian Civilization and famous residential area of Cankaya for the panoramic view. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.

DAY 11 : Sunday - Ankara / Istanbul / Country of origin

After breakfast departure for home-bound journey.

DAY 01 : Saturday - Country of origin / Istanbul / Adana

Upon arriving at Istanbul's Airport, you will be transferred to a flight bound for Adana. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 02 : Sunday - Adana / Antioch / Adana ( 157 Miles )

Begin the day with a morning departure for Antakya ( Antioch ). In the afternoon visit the Grotto of St. Peter and the famous Mosaic Museum. Later, travel to the ancient city of Seleucia on Piera. When returning to Adana, visit the Crusader's Castle and the ruined city of Issus. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay in Adana.

DAY 03 : Monday - Adana / Tarsus / Cappadocia ( 188 Miles )

After breakfast, drive to Cappadocia. En route visit Tarsus, the birth place of St. Paul and where he was schooled into a man. In it's time it was an important city bridging the east and west. Then proceed to Cappadocia. Upon arrival visit one of the underground cities. dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 04 : Tuesday - Cappadocia ( 63 Miles )

After breakfast, visit the unique valley of Goreme. The remains of early 8th and 9th century churches can be seen, hollowed out in the rock cones of volcanic ash. There are hundreds of these churches in this region, some of which are decorated with scratched frescoes depicting scenes from the Bible. In the afternoon continue the tour of Cappadocia by venturing through the canyon like landscape. Discover the unique troglodyte village of Zelve and the fortress of Uchisar that crowns a cliff, on the caves. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 05 : Wednesday - Cappadocia / Konya / Antalya ( 357 Miles )

After breakfast drive to Konya. In the morning, visit the Mevlana Museum. Later, travel through the city of Sille to the city of Yalvac ( Psidian Antioch ). It was here that St. Paul and St. Barnabus lived and introduced Christianity to the pagan world. Proceed to Antalya alongside of Egirdir Lake. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Antalya.

DAY 06 : Thursday - Antalya / Perge / Side / Aspendos / Antalya ( 125 Miles )

Begin the day by touring the Roman cities of Perge, Aspendos and Side. These cities contain many ruins from the Pax Roman and Byzantine periods. Later in the afternoon, return to Antalya for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 07: Friday - Antalya / Laodicea / Pamukkale ( 144 Miles )

After breakfast, drive to Laodicea which is another prosperous city in the chain, where Christianity first spread. Next stop is the unique city of Pamukkale. Upon arrival, visit its famous Cotton Castle. Afterwards, enjoy a trip to Pamukkale's hot springs and visit the famous Hierapolis. Enjoy dinner and overnight at the hotel in Pamukkale.

DAY 08 : Saturday - Pamukkale / Miletus / Ephesus / Izmir ( 235 Miles )

After breakfast , drive to Miletus which is home to an ancient theatre that staged a passionate speech of St. Paul on his third missionary journey. Upon arrival, visit its ancient theatre. Then proceed to Ephesus. See the dazzling artifacts dating back to the your 3,000 B.C. and visit the House of the Virgin Mary. Proceed to Izmir for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 09 : Sunday - Izmir / Sardis / Thyatira / Izmir ( 157 Miles )

Today begin with Sardis, one of the most picturesque areas of these seven cities. Here, St. John expressed his concern for pushing further with the progress of the city's faith. Later, proceed to Thyatira, a strategically important city in it's time, to witness the remains of the church. return to Izmir for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 10 : Monday - Izmir / Pergamum / Troas / Troy / Çanakkale ( 250 Miles )

In the morning, proceed to Pergamum to tour its ancient Acropolis and Asclepieon. In the afternoon, proceed to Troas of Alexandra. Later, visit Troy, the famous city in Homer's Iliad. Afterwards, spend an evening of dinner and relaxation at the hotel in Çanakkale.

DAY 11 : Tuesday - Çanakkale / Istanbul ( 282 Miles )

After breakfast cross the Dardanelles by a ferry to European Turkey and drive to Istanbul for an afternoon leisure. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Istanbul.

DAY 12 : Wednesday - Istanbul ( 32 Miles )

Spend a full day sightseeing Istanbul's most important highlights. In the morning, visit the St. Sophia and St. Savior in Chora Churches, both constructed in 532 AD and contain beautiful mosaics from this period. Also visit the Hippodrome - the site of ancient chariot races and Topkapi Palace - with its priceless treasures from the ancient ruling Sultans. In the afternoon, visit the Blue Mosque, a masterpiece of Turkish architecture decorated with exquisite shimmering Iznik tiles. Also visit the world famous Grand Bazaar containing over 4,000 shops and markets. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 13 : Thursday - Istanbul ( 63 Miles )

Today we discover the outskirts of Istanbul by crossing the Bosphorus Bridge to the Asian side. From the Camlica Hills, take in a panoramic and exciting view of Istanbul's mystic skyline. Return to Europe and then take a short cruise on the ancient Bosphorus. Admire the classical and luxurious architecture of the Asian and European shores. Return back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 14 : Friday - Istanbul / Country of origin

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home.
